The Banyan Tree Dispensary isn’t just a business; it’s the culmination of a 15-year journey, born from a deep love for cannabis and a desire to serve our community.

Back in 2009, a group of passionate individuals came together, driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to quality medical cannabis. We operated as a legacy provider under Prop 215, navigating the complexities of California’s evolving cannabis laws.

In 2018, we set our sights on a retail license in Fresno. It was a daunting task, with many obstacles and naysayers along the way. But we persevered. After a 5-year application process, marked by dedication and unwavering resolve, we finally opened our doors in April 2024.

Our name, “Banyan Tree,” is inspired by the founders’ experience on Maui, where the Banyan Tree served as a welcoming gathering place for the cannabis community. We strive to embody that same spirit of community and connection.

Today, we stand proudly as the only 100% locally-owned dispensary in Fresno, operating under a social equity license. Our story is one of resilience, passion, and a deep commitment to providing Fresno with the finest cannabis experience.

Inspired by a personal experience with medicinal cannabis, I transitioned from a banking career to become a passionate advocate for safe and accessible cannabis. Since 2009, I’ve navigated the evolving landscape of the industry, from operating medical dispensaries to facing regulatory challenges and embracing the opportunities of Proposition 64. With over 13 years of experience in both the legacy and legal markets, I’m dedicated to providing high-quality cannabis and contributing to a responsible and thriving industry.
